seeing and capturing the special moments

Joshua and Carla :)

This e-session was super special for me since Carla was my roommate for two years, and is still one of my best friends! There are some friends in life that you know God put there for a reason and Carla is one of those for me. We have laughed together, cried on each others shoulders, argued over stupid things, encouraged each other and made so many memories together. She has been a huge blessing and friend to me.

When you see Joshua and Carla together you can’t help but notice how happy and in love they are. I have been there to see this relationship start, grow and mature. Carla is full of life and passion and she has met her soulmate in Joshua who is caring and genuine. They are so different but yet so perfect for each other. Their story is most definitely a fairy tail and I have no doubt that it will have a happy ending :).

Carla and Joshua, it was my privileged to get to photograph you. I am excited for you to have these photos to hold the memories of your love for each other for the rest of your lives. One thing is for certain…Carla, you will be an absolutely beautiful bride on your wedding day. I love you both!

Happy Valentines day 🙂

Kyle and Erin Engagement session

These two are just goof balls! I had a great time photographing them and just laughing every few seconds! Their marriage will be filled with lots of laughter that’s for sure.  They even brought their dog which was a first for me. Bo was full of energy and needless to say had us doing EVERYTHING trying to get him to even slightly look in the direction of the camera…lol

I’m sad since this is my last engagement session before I leave NC :(. But hey, at least it was fun!!!

Kyle and Erin, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Matt and Jen

The best activities on a rainy day…editing photos and drinking coffee 🙂

Matt and Jen are the epitome of a couple in love and excited about their upcoming life together.  I was so excited when they told me Napper Tandy’s was the location they wanted to go to for their session.  Napper Tandy’s is a great little Irish pub in down town Raleigh. The people there were so nice to let us invade the place and do some fun shots. It’s actually the place where Matt first told Jen he liked her….and the rest is history! 🙂

So grab a cup of coffee and a snack…it’s a LONG post 🙂

Guys, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek! I had such a great time working with you and I can’t wait for you wedding!!!

Adam and Brittany

It’s been too long since I’ve done an engagement session and I was so excited to get the opportunity to photograph these two. My clients don’t know this but they teach me so much about myself, my style and how I can push myself to be more creative. I often will give a suggestion and then I watch as they make it their own… it’s truly a beautiful thing.  I don’t take my job lightly, because I know how precious these images are. Still images give you a chance to relive a single moment over and over. They bring back emotions and feelings…i love that! Brittany and Adam were great and I’m so excite for them! Guys, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Matthew and Jordan get Engaged!

I am beyond excited to show you photos from this session! It all started last year before Christmas when Matt called me saying that he was planning to ask Jordan to marry him and that he thought it would be special to photograph the moment! Of course I was all over this idea and could barely contain my excitement! LOL It’s only any photographers dream to have this sort of opportunity. So the planning began but with a few complications Matt ran into with the jewelry company, we had to keep pushing our plans farther and farther out. You never realize how much work goes into a surprise engagement session until you actually try to plan one! Matt was able to get everything worked out and came up with a fabulous plan to keep Jordan going along with us. Jordan thankfully has been asking to have a session with me and so Matt was able to just say that for Christmas we would be doing a session of the two of them…just for fun :). Well, the story goes on and it took over 6 months before all the plans fell into place…

I got a call the end of June from Matt with good news that he had a ring and he was ready to purpose! We decided to do it July 4th :). Matt and I scouted out a location on NCS campus beforehand  (we decided to go with a spot that had special memories attached to it for them).  The day came and we had arranged for the session in the morning trying to escape the heat! When I got there I’m not sure who was more nervous! It’s a lot of pressure to photograph a surprise engagement session! I’m sure Matt gets the award, but even Jordan was making comments about being nervous to have her picture taken…of course this it when Matt and I are thinking “You’re not HALF as nervous as we are! lol

Matt and I had talked about how we wanted to do this and decided we would just incorporate it into the session. I told them that they would stand back to back and walk three steps away from each other and then on the count of three they would turn and walk back toward each other. Matt knew that this was his time to get down on one knee as soon as Jordan had put her back to him.  I start counting “ok One…Two…”. This is when the story gets even more exciting! As soon as I say “two” Matt opens the box and to his surprise the ring goes FLYING out of the box! I heard something go clang, but was hoping and praying that it was a key or something else! I do get a glance of Matt’s face and realize that the clanging sound was most definitely the ring. Matt is so good because he just goes with it! I say “three” and Jordan turns… I’ll let the photos tell the rest of the story 🙂

Matt and Jordan, enjoy your sneak peek!

The warm up shots…Jordan has NO IDEA what’s coming! 🙂

I Love how Matt’s pointing to the ring on the ground!

Needless to say that after this we couldn’t stop laughing about how the ring went flying out! God has such a great sense of humor! LOL

We took a few more photos of just them and I absolutely love what we got! The emotion is so fresh and you can tell they are just so happy :).

It’s things like this that remind me of how Awesome our God is. He creates people to love each other. We are so privileged to get to see this even in the little things.

Congratulations Matthew and Jordan!!!

Harry & Stephanie

Harry and Stephanie are just so precious together. I met them for the first time about an hour and half before this session and we chatted, laughed and had a great time getting to know each other before heading out for the session. I just love working with so many different couples and hearing how they met and getting to see them interact with each other. These two couldn’t stop laughing and you can tell that they’re best friends. Guys, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek! Can’t wait for the wedding!

Bill and Julie King

I have known Bill and Julie for about 6 years now. They have been such a blessing to me and their lives are  such a great testimony for the Lord. I went on my first mission trip with them and watched them serve and love all of us (the mission team as well as the people there). This photo session was to celebrate 30+ years of marriage! Praise the Lord for wonderful couples like them who are living out the example of what it means to truly say “I do”. I asked them to share one thing that they feel has helped their marriage last and they said “Drawing closer to Jesus”. How true! As I am getting ready to say “I do” I am so grateful for the couples God has placed in my life to lead the way! God Bless you guys!

I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
